History of Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden
Nong Nooch Tropical Garden first came into existence in the 1950s when Mrs Nongnooch Tansacha and her husband purchased the land (then a fruit plantation). However, influenced by foreign botanical gardens and designed for the people’s pleasure, they decided to develop it in the form of a tropical garden.
Nong Nooch Garden in 1980 was officially opened to the public, an event which caretaker Kampon Tansacha has made into one of Pattaya’s major landmarks, attracting visitors not only from throughout Thailand but from around the world as well. Under his direction it has now become a tourist attraction that is unparalleled in both Thailand and even internationally.
The management of the garden then passed to their son. Since taking over in 1983, Mr Kampon Tansacha has expanded and enhanced these beautiful Gardens of the World.
